Dear Community,

As we brace together as a nation to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, Collaborative Healing Initiative within Communities, Inc. (CHIC) is continuing to empower women, youth and families through ongoing support in workforce development, mentorship and social and emotional wellbeing. In accordance with the statewide stay-at-home order our entire staff has moved to working remotely from home. We have shifted our engagement with each other, clients, and students to online presences,  Zoom meetings and Google platforms - classroom, hangouts and meets. We are continuing to think outside the box in determining the best ways we can show-up for our communities during this time. To increase our support efforts, CHIC has partnered with Sisterhood of Philanthropist Impacting Needs (SPIN), Launch Network, Park Hill Collective Impact (PHCI) and individual donors to offer assistance for those with urgent and immediate needs in the wake of COVID-19. Together we are committed to helping our community, friends and neighbors by offering family support financial contributions up to $100, which you can receive as an Amazon gift card (preferred option) or Visa gift card. If you are seeking support please complete the COVID-19 Community Support Fund application which can be found here. Please allow three to seven days for requests to be processed. If you would like to contribute to this fund please click the DONATE button located at the top right corner of this page. Any donations made now through April 30th will go directly to the COVID-19 Community Support Fund

I understand the uncertainty of these times can cause panic and distress. Remembering to schedule time to read a book/magazine, take a walk, cook your favorite meal, create a piece of art, meditate or journal, are all things you can do to practice self-care and maintain your peace of mind during this isolation period. Adjusting to the new normal is difficult for us all, but we are encouraging our community to practice social distancing, and abide by all governing orders. Please, stay home, wash your hands often and take care of yourself. Although things are unsettling now, I believe together, in camaraderie and with faith, we will overcome this.

“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” – Helen Keller

God bless you,
